Laat Me Niet Alleen (Ne Me Quitte Pas)
Jacques Brel. This is such a beautiful song. You have to feel the words while you sing them and the best way to do so, I guess, is to use your mother tongue. So I'll do it in Dutc...Show More

I heb dit nummer van Jacques altijd zo mooi gevonden, maar helaas, ik verstond er geen bal van. Your Dutch version is so meaningful and sung with emotions. I never heard the Dutch version, and really glad you sang it, so I finaly know the meaning of the song better. Fantastic performance buurman:-)

I have not heard this song before, but it was very beautiful. Its cool listening to other languages in song :) You did a very good, expressive job. I very much enjoyed :)

A great sing of this Jacques Brel and Rod McKuen classic from the '60s. I loved your performance, Dutchy

You're right it's such a beautiful melody. First time hearing it in Dutch. I can still understand a little bit of it so it was a real treat hearing this. Great job on the vocals! John

Thanks John. Did not trust myself to do it in French :-) There are great English versions too, though, from Dusty Springfield amongst others, I'm sure you know it. Nice to hear you understand a bit of Dutch! Where did you you learn that?

Dutch was actually my first language. I lived in Holland from the age of 1 until I was 9 when my family moved to the U.S. in 1962. I don't know anyone who speaks Dutch here in Texas, so I never get to practice it anymore. John
